Amanek includes 2 buildings, the Yula-re and the Inn. The Yula-re gives slightly fancier vibes and that's where the breakfast buffet, smoking room, sento, rooftop pool, gym and jacuzzi are located. I stayed next door at the Amanek Inn. The lobby is very modern and on the first floor there's a little library where you can read or simply relax. There's also a massage place on the same floor along with a microwave. There's only one lift for the building. The staff is friendly and accommodating, will store your luggage and provide great restaurant recommendations. My room was on the top floor in the corner and had possibly the best view, particularly at sunrise. The room size was ok for a solo traveller with a regular size suitcase. Loved that I could connect my phone to the TV seamlessly. Towels, slippers and yukata are provided in the room along with toiletries. FYI - sento and pool are located next door and you will have to briefly walk outdoors if you stay at the Inn to reach the other building's lobby. Wish the yukatas provided at the Yula-re were available for purchase. They were so pretty. Would stay here again.

Loved how we could use the onsen and pool facilities at the fancier hotel next door. It made our stay such good value. The room was a bit small with the bed pushed against the wall, but that’s not unusual for Japan. I didn’t find the room dirty, which I was concerned about based on other reviews. Maybe if I looked closely at the corners for dust I would have but I felt clean and comfortable in the room. Good location, maybe 5-10 minute walk from the train station and lots of food around. We parked overnight in a car park on the street behind for 1000 yen (つるみカーパーク on Google maps) as the Venus Gallery car park next door was quite expensive. Entrance to the hotel was a bit hard to find by car, as it’s set back from the street. Would stay again.

The public heated pool was extremely spacious and offered great views of the city! I also loved relaxing at the onsen, which was very big and also had a great view. The laundry facilities were very much appreciated, as we had a lot of dirty clothing. The staff were extremely helpful at not only checking in, but also helping us order pizza late at night when we were too tired to go out for dinner. I absolutely will be coming back to this hotel at some point. It is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at!

Great stay! Located only a few minutes from the Beppu station. While our hotel did not have onsens, the other one located in the nearby building has them, and the guests are allowed to use it. You will need to go outside of the hotel to enter the other building. The onsens were great and helped us to relax our muscles after long walking days. The hotel also has a massage center located on the 2nd floor. I got foot massage, the experience was great and relaxing overall, but I was provided with a pair of shorts, that seemed to be worn already and smelled like sweat, so I got massage in my cloths instead. The bathroom is a little bit outdated, has signs of mold and had musty smell when we left the door closed over night. Considering the price, location and onsens, overall we had a good experience!

This hotel offers an amazing value - the hotel itself is a basic one, but nice and clean. The real value is that it offers free access to all the amenities of the other neighboring AMANEK Hotel which is a marvel. The breakfast is an amazing feast offering the best from the region. There is an amazing onsen on the 14th floor and a rooftop pool on the 15th floor overlooking the whole city - and it's all yours. The location of the hotel is also great, a short walk away from Beppu station and you can also reach the famous Kannawa onsen area with a short bus ride from the station. I look forward to returning to this hotel and Beppu, this stay was the highlight of my entire Japan trip.

Amenek Inn Beppu is the annex of Amenk hotel, which is just 10 meters away across a courtyard. The annex has only rooms and reception, coin laundry and a relax room (vending machines and microwave), for the main services you need to reach the main building, where you will find the restaurant, with an amazing breakfast ranging from traditional Japanese to continental to European, the onsen (14th floor, both indoor and outdorr) and the open air pool on the 15th floor. The room is spacey (could open two large trunks on the floor) and the bed super comfortable. The desk as well is ample and well equipped.

It is located in a very quiet street, and a walking distance from the Beppu Station. Very helpful and friendly staff. I LOVED their HUGE variety of food for breakfast, and the hot spring on the 14th of the main building. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I liked been able to use the washing machine & the dryer.

It was very central and an easy walk to the station. The facilities were excellent and it was great that guests of the Inn were able to use the facilities of the hotel. The pool, sauna and indoor/outdoor onsen on the rooftop was a treat.

For first-time visitors to Beppu, this is a fabulous location a very short distance from the train station. Downtown is incredibly accessible, along with the many interesting little side-street areas. Beppu is however, extremely interesting a distance away; if visiting for vacation, a car and a few days would be recommended. The sento in the photos is actually in the building next door, and the facilities are good for a hotel -- though I would recommend heading to the actual onsen across the street for a more authentic experience!

Close to the train station but still in a quiet area. View from my room were better than expected with a mountain view. Good value for a night's stay.
